The fact this lines up so nicely tells us the film was not cut. If we fast forward exactly 1 hour to the second, we see the mask on the bed next to Alice (Kidman) and we hear the same piano note. When this happens, we hear a distressing piano note. At the mansion party, there is a scene where Bill (Cruise) is forced to remove his mask. I think it's up there with all the other Kubrick films in terms of quality.įirst of all I want to explain the argument for why the film was not cut after the death of Kubrick. Also I hope people wil give it a second watch. I just hope people give this a quick read and understand this film is in fact very deep. Or even remember or know it all to begin with.
SHUT IN MEANING MOVIE
The movie is PACKED with symbols and clues. Here I go with explaining what I (and others, because I've picked up info from everyone over the years) think it is all about. Why is this often disregarded as a "dream". For example, there is a very explicit satanic cult scene in the film. They don't always spell things out for you. So much of the story is told in subtle ways. It's understandable to think that if you've seen the film only once and have moved on. I was surprised to see that many people think this film is simply about sex/lust and not much else. So I've had a lot of time to let it sink in, and to have heard other people talk about it. It's the movie I've seen the most of any film, and I've must have seen it for the first time in the early 2000s. I wanted to share what I have come to think is the meaning of Eyes Wide Shut. There are rumors that the final cut was edited after his death. It stars Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise in the lead roles.
